M104 Sombrero Galaxy
Taken on 14th April 2012. Using a QHY8 on my LX200GPS with 6.3 focal reducer and guided with PHD. 15 lights 5 bias and 5 flats.
The Sombrero Galaxy is named as it tends to look like a Mexican Sombrero. I found this a difficult target in my highly lit suburban area. Located in the Constellation Of Virgo and some 28 Million Light Years from Earth. Magnitude of around 9.0. Still pretty cool to be able to take images of objects this far away from you back yard…
