Saturated Moon
After reading a post on the Ice in Space forum I decided to give this a go. The moderator posted a how to showing the method of getting the colour out of your moon images. If you want to give this a go, I would suggest going to the forum and doing a search for Saturated Moon. This is my first attempt at this process and am happy with the results. I did not get perfect focus, but the conditions that night were not the best. I hope to get a full moon version soon if the weather allows. This is so far the shot I like the most. I took this in the first week of October 2011. Taken with my QHY8 and Guided with PHD. I took around 10 light frames, 10 flat frames and 8 Bias frames. I used Nebulosity (Paid Ver.) to capture and batch process the images. I then used Photoshop to process the final image. I live in a light polluted area, so getting good long exposure images is some what of a challenge. I have been fortunate enough to meet a helping hand via the Ice in Space forum who has helped me a great deal (Thanks Mark).
